Caritas Ghana, a charity organization of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference and a member of the global Caritas Confederation has launched a project aimed at contributing to the management of e-waste in Ghana. This project forms part of Caritas Ghana’s contribution to making operational the encyclical “Laudato Si” which was issued by Pope Francis with focus on care for the environment.
Caritas Ghana will implement the e-waste management project by:
• Undertaking advocacy initiatives for adequate policy response
• Carrying out nation-wide public education and sensitization for behavioral and attitudinal change about disposal of e-waste
• Setting-up of physical e-waste collection centers for proper recycling.
Caritas Ghana has unveiled an official logo for the nation-wide e-waste management project. See logo below:

Key institutions supporting Caritas Ghana for this campaign include GIZ and the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation.
The National launch was sponsored by Strategic Security System International Limited (3SiL), Strategic Power Solutions (SPS), AAA Infrastructure (AAAi) and Wagtec Ghana.
The project was launched by Mr. Kenneth Ashigbey, the Managing Director of Graphic Communications on behalf of the Archbishop of Accra – His Grace Most Rev. Charles G. Palmer-Buckle.
