TERMS OF REFERENCE (ToR)

JOB TITLE: PROJECT OFFICER: HUMANITARIAN SERVICES

Overall Objective of Position:

To guarantee access to basic livelihood security services (food, shelter, medicine) for the poor and vulnerable, technical/logistics support to Catholic Health facilities and coordinated dissemination of authentic COVID-19 information using W.H.O and Ghana Health Service approved guidelines to influence Social and Behavioural Change in Ghana.

Project Office Location: Caritas Ghana Office in Accra

Reporting to: Project Coordinator

Duration: The position is available on a six-month contract from 1^st August 2020 to January 2021.

Safeguarding: Caritas Ghana applies safe recruitment principles and ALL Applicants MUST accept to go through background checks. Evidence of actual or association with abuse of children and vulnerable adults is sufficient grounds to revoke the contract even if appointment has already taken place.

Duties:

1. Implement project activities in accordance with Caritas Ghana and donors’ project management policies, standards and guidelines.
2. Carry out monthly planning and monitoring of progress of project activities.
3. Work with project team to develop livelihood adaptation options for vulnerable women and girls.
4. Carry out feasibility studies of income generating activities, and skill development training and support for implementation of livelihood options.
5. Be responsible for ensuring beneficiary accountability, gender equality, women and girls rights.
6. Provide periodic situational reports (SITREP) and regular updates on progress and impact of Caritas Ghana’s Humanitarian projects.
7. Manage digital and physical files on Emergency and Humanitarian project.
8. Provide a wide range of project management support to Caritas Ghana
9. Assist the Project Coordinator to prepare project activity reports on monthly interval and when required.
10. Undertake any project related responsibilities requested by the Project Coordinator.

Basic Qualification: First Degree in any of the Social Sciences from a recognized University with a minimum of one (1) year working experience.
